 I. We are somewhat selective and only accept books in excellent condition.
The more like new, the better!(Isn't that what you would like to BUY?) We accept titles based on your book's condition, its content and with an eye toward maintaining a diverse inventory. You may bring books to us for trade credit or -- for a limited number books in high demand-- cash. Trade accounts are kept on file in the store and may be applied toward the purchase of any item in stock. If you are moving or wish to close your account, store credit may  be redeemed for cash.

II. We buy books based on our intended selling price:
    *Most paperbacks sell for half the original cover price, with a minimum of  
$2.00.
    * Hardback fiction is priced according to size and quality. Prices marked on the front cover.
    * Nonfiction is priced according to size, with adjustments for condition and demand.
    * Children's books are typically $0.50 to $4.00, with some larger books priced higher.

III. For books in good condition:
    * Trade credit is up to 50% (half) of our selling price.
    * The cash paid (if we really need your book) varies by condition, content and need, but is generally about one-third of the credit we offer.

IV. Applegarth Books will not be able to accept some books regardless of their condition. We may not take a popular book because we are currently well supplied. Books of a narrow interest might be highly desirable because we have so few. A book that we reject today might be a highly coveted two months from now. Unfortunately we never accept:
   * Reader's Digest Condensed Books             * Ex-Library Books
   * Most textbooks                                     * Encyclopedias
   * Dedicated Home School Material               * Serial Romance Novels
   * Books with missing dust jackets
 Any book not deemed suitable to trade must be picked up within 24 hours of inspection or we will donate it to charity.
